cakes

A few years ago I decided to make my yopungest son his Birthday cake, he was real big into superheros, so my husband and I made him a Batman cake. Needless to say the following year our oldest son wanted a "better" cake for his party, and that's how it all began. That following Jan. I made my son a R2D2 3D cake it came out ok, then my youngest wanted something "even better" so for his next birthday the movie G.I. Joe Rise of the Cobra had just come out,and he wanted a G.I. Joe cake. The movie hadn't quite come out yet so I had to find something aand I made him a Tank cake of course it had to be 3D . At that party the neighbor decided for his 30th birthday party he wanted me to make him a cake for it. He put it out there that he would love a 3D replica of his head. I didn't think I could do it out of cake ,but I had been watching one of my favorite shows " Charm City Cakes" and had seen them make a head out of rice krispy treats,so I did it. In between that time I had made one for my husband just a simple one because that month is so busy I had made 2 cakes and cupcakes for my kids, and then my husband, and knew the neighbors would be in just over a month. After that came my oldest again and this time we had only been home 2 days from our first big vacation as a family (we went to Disney kids first time) and he wanted a cake so I whipped up a nice snowboard cake for him. The next big event this year would've been my 1 year since my transplant, and I threw a big bash I had all these ideas, and setteled on a pancreas cake just like the one I received with part of the small intestines. I thought it was going to be great, others thought I was a little morbid, I made the cake out of red velvet and injected it so when you cut it it would ooze. I also made a bigger plain cake for those who didn't want the pancreas cake. I then was aksed to make a Toy Story 3 cake for one of my sons friends birthday. I checked the web like I usually do, and that's where I come up with all my ideas, and found an awsome cake ,and went with her idea and ran from there. Thanks Britt. I hope you enjoy all the pictures.
